The proposed new train station for Merthyr Tydfil town is being considered as part of an urban renewal transport hub linking the new award-winning bus station and wider master-plan developments.

This will be a major project in South Wales which is to be funded by central government as part of the ‘Levelling Up Fund’, designed to benefit regional infrastructure and renewal initiatives.

Option studies and consultations are underway to assess public opinion on the extent of urban intervention.
Percy Thomas Architects have been commissioned to develop this project from feasibility design to completion.
